We at the Billow will be celebrating National Poetry Month by attempting to complete the April Poetry Challenge–write a poem a day for the month! For the next 30 days we will share prompts with you in the hope that maybe you, too, will find your way to the page.
Day 1: Write a poem about a thunderstorm without using the words rain, thunder, or lightning.
Write on!

Hi thepoetsbillow. Thank you for liking my poem Upon That Site! Best Wishes. The Foureyed Poet.
Yes, it’s already day #4. Can we backtrack at this point, or is it simply too late?
Love a challenge but am so tired, lol.
It is never to late to write a poem – you can do it!
Thank you!
How do we link the poems for April Poetry Months to this site? Do we just post individual links to the respective day prompt posts?
Stormy Night
I woke up to a refreshing sound
After a long dreamy night
Clung to my pillow like a little pet
Loved by his faithful master
The night wasn’t scary or horrible
Pleasant noise echoes of wind
Blows through my open windows
While I gazed into the starry horizon
I saw the flashes of light
Sound wave that shook my cores
Heavy showers of water running through my roof
Loving the downpour that smells so good
I step outside after it was over
My bare feet to the wetness of the ground
The chilling quietness my body felt
Brought memories of another beautiful day
Day 2…help.
What would be fun would be to read what others are writing.

Wow! That’s a wonderful one!
I’m up for the challenge.
blanketed in greys
peppered splashes and some shake
flash again, it’s blues
Can’t wait! I wrote one on rain because I couldn’t remember if it was thunderstorm or rain. Darn it! I chose incorrectly! How do I submit?
