This past week I watched a few episodes of Naked and Afraid (no judgements here!) just to see what a show with that title can be about. I also love survival themes and any type of wilderness and, ya know, sometimes you just have to watch a reality show to remind you why you should be reading instead.
For today’s prompt write a poem with a title that follows the same format as Naked and Afraid, so:
(Physical) Adjective conjunction (Mental/ Emotional) Adjective
For example, here are few I came up with:
Hairy and Courageous
Sick and Contageous
Feeble but Nimble
For an added challenge, make sure your two adjectives share the same assonance as the A sound does in Naked and Afraid.
“..and, ya know, sometimes you just have to watch a reality show to remind you why you should be reading instead.” Bhaha!! No doubt.
Ive never heard of this tv show, but I’ve been watching some cop shows recently that inspired my little rhyme Virile Yet Vile
He’ll be gone for a while
And when he comes back he’ll
Come back in style.
Summoned by sons
Of the fathers he’d run
Out of the business at
The point of a gun
Classic car theft
Wits are quick hands are deft
And he’ll smash with the right
And he’ll grab with the left
Risky but try
His ambitions were high
And he moved from that trade
A more subtle to ply
Crafty and quick
He shook hands with the sick
And left them with medicine
In their veins for to stick
Charming and cruel
He was nobody’s fool
He would seduce young companions to use for his tools
Fitter than most
He would regularly boast
That he could out drink his guests
While proposing a toast.
Bigger than I,
Afraid I might die
When we came face to face
To either fight or to fly
Hairy of face
That image I can’t erase
Ladies and gents of the jury
I now rest my case.
